GEROVASSILIOU

The wine has a dark ruby colour with an excellent and complex structure. Its blackberry fruits on the nose offer spice and depth in addition to hints of mocha and cocoa. The palate is enjoyable with ripe tannins that balance cedar, chocolate, pepper and spice. Great potential to age.

Gamey red meats, BBQ, cured chacuterrie, grilled lamb and eggplant dishes.

92% Syrah, 8% Viognier
Gerovassiliou considered at the forefront of the Greek wine renaissance, is a pupil of the famed father of modern oenology Emile Peynaud. In 1981, urged by his love, knowledge and experience in vine-growing and fine wines, Vangelis Gerovassiliou began to renovate the family vineyard and created the Ktima Gerovassiliou. His vineyard of 72ha, on the slopes of Epanomi, is world-class. It is surrounded on three sides by the sea, which is four kilometres distant, while its west side faces Thermaic Gulf and Mount Olympus, and the beaches of Pieria.
