Tasting Notes

This wine is richly structured and loaded with complex flavor reminiscent of dark fruits like blackberries and black cherries. On the palate it has a rich, round, opulent feel. The dark fruit character lingers along with subtle oak notes in the long supple finish.

Gerovassiliou considered at the forefront of the Greek wine renaissance, is a pupil of the famed father of modern oenology Emile Peynaud. In 1981, urged by his love, knowledge and experience in vine-growing and fine wines, Vangelis Gerovassiliou began to renovate the family vineyard and created the Ktima Gerovassiliou. His vineyard of 72ha, on the slopes of Epanomi, is world-class. It is surrounded on three sides by the sea, which is four kilometres distant, while its west side faces Thermaic Gulf and Mount Olympus, and the beaches of Pieria.
